The registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit provides high‑level care for cath‑lab patients pre‑ and post‑procedure. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care, assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, performing bedside procedures such as TEE and cardioversions, administering medications, and discharging patients with education.
Shift schedule varies: 3 × 12‑hour shifts per day (0600‑1830, 0700‑1930, 0800‑2030). Call is on a rotational basis, approximately once every 4–6 weeks, including weekend coverage.
Key procedures: prepare patients for cath lab, cardioversions, TEE; recover patients following sedation; document bedside procedures; discharge patients.
Qualifications- Registered Nurse in Arizona or compact state license
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- Experience in PACU, ICU, telemetry, cath lab, or surgery center (considered case‑by‑case)
Pay is based on 12‑hour shifts, 36 hours per week. Tax‑free stipend amount to be determined. Northwest Medical Center bill rate $75 per shift (Cardiac Observation Unit).
