Hiring Range: $34.62 – $41.54 per hour (estimate for offer)
Full Pay Range: $34.62 – $48.47 per hour (entire compensation range)

• Administer general nursing care to patients in hospitals, clinics, mobile units, program events, and homes.
• Administer medications, including reproductive/sexual health treatments, STI/HIV treatments, and vaccinations/immunizations following orders.
• Observe, record and report patient reactions, responses, and general condition.
• Conduct utilization reviews, quality assurance, improvement activities, and prepare related reports.
• Confere with physicians, managers, or department heads regarding QA/UM issues and recommend solutions.
• Ensure competency with nursing standards and division policies.
• Act as a preceptor, teaching nursing practices and orienting new personnel.
• Assume responsibility for all clinical activities within scope of practice, including phlebotomy and laboratory procedures, when needed.
• Participate in community health programs such as outreach, child health conferences, school health programs, group instructions, home care services, etc.
• Participate in emergency preparedness exercises and serve as core member of the clinical response team.
• Plan and participate in field research related to public health nursing.

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school with an Associate’s degree.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Arizona (Nurse Licensure Compact acceptable).
• Documentation of qualifying education and experience required.

• At least one year of experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience working with low‑income, multi‑cultural populations.
• Experience using electronic health records.

• Pima County Human Resources will admit to the selection process only those candidates who meet the minimum qualifications.
• Candidates meeting minimum qualifications may be further evaluated against preferred qualifications.
• Interviews will be conducted and the successful candidate selected from a referral list.
• Additional assessments or testing may be required.

• Either a current Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) or a license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in Arizona.
• Valid driver’s license required at time of application and appointment.
• 39‑month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review required.
• Fleet Services review of driving record is required for employment offer.

• Pre‑employment background checks (work history, education, criminal history).
• High risk of exposure to blood‑borne pathogens;
  Hepatitis B vaccine provided.
• Positions may require an Arizona Department of Public Safety Clearance Card; failure to maintain is grounds for termination.
• Post‑job offer physical and/or drug screen required.
• Post‑job offer proof of immunizations and/or TB screening required.

• Frequent computer use and office equipment operation.
• Observe details at close range regularly.
• Move around inside office/clinic frequently.
• Participate in external events, mobile sites, and home care visits.
• Occasional sitting on floor or crouching in home care environments.
• Activities include climbing, crawling, kneeling, reaching, squatting, stooping, grasping.
• Work in noisy areas, respond to alarms.
• Speak in person and over phone/cell.
• Vision requirements: operate motor vehicle, distinguish colors, depth perception, peripheral vision.
• Lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds.

The nurse works in clinic, office, or community settings, providing direct patient care, education, and administrative duties. Regular, daily attendance is essential. Alternative work schedules may be considered based on division leadership and program needs.
