Immunization and Infection Prevention Manager
The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service (CHS) seeks a qualified candidate for the Nursing Manager II (Immunization and Infection Prevention Manager) position. The role provides nursing care to CHS patients and oversees the Immunization & Travel Clinic, Workforce Member (WFM) Compliance Program, and Infection Prevention Program. The applicant will provide operational leadership, support clinical services, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive quality improvement initiatives across Campus Health departments.

Duties & Responsibilities- Daily management and operation of the Immunization & Travel Clinic, ensuring compliance with national, state, university, and regulatory agency regulations, including AAAHC accreditation standards.
- Ordering, inventory, and storage of vaccines and related supplies.
- Development and maintenance of immunization standing orders, policies, and vaccine information sheets.
- Keeping current with ACIP guidelines, immunize.org, and other relevant resources.
- Participation in quality improvement projects and collection of data to review performance metrics of the clinic.
- Coordination with Study Abroad programs and Medical Records regarding immunization requirements.
- Serving on assigned committees and acting as liaison with external partners such as the Pima County Health Department.
- Overseeing workforce members in partnership with Occupational Health, Environmental Health & Safety, and other stakeholders.
- Staying up to date with infection prevention information from APIC, CDC, and NIH; obtaining or maintaining APIC Infection Prevention Certification.
- Compiling the Annual Infection Prevention Summary and Risk Assessment; leading Infection Prevention Committee meetings.
- Managing the annual Tuberculosis Surveillance Program and related reporting.
- Cross-training with the Clinical Nursing Supervisor to provide operational and clinical leadership support; maintaining familiarity with triage processes, patient flow, and daily clinical operations.
- Assisting with oversight and supervision of Medical Assistants and coordinating staff meetings.
- Promoting team engagement and morale through positive leadership and effective communication.
- Acting as a resource to nursing and support staff during periods of increased workload or supervisor absence.
- Knowledge of AAAHC regulation/standards of care.
- Knowledge of infection prevention practices.
- Knowledge of occupational health immunization requirements.
- Knowledge of quality improvement techniques and data collection.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel.
- Competency with Zoom and scheduling virtual meetings.
- Project management skills.
- Health informatics skills.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience.
- Minimum of five years of related work experience, including two years of managerial experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Licensed in the State of Arizona as a Registered Nurse.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
- APIC Certification in Infection Prevention.
