Schedule:
Day shift with rotating on‑call (3 12‑hour shifts Monday‑Friday; 5‑8 on‑call shifts monthly). Call locations include BUMCT and BUMCS Cath Lab; RN floats between both locations and takes call for both. Candidate must reside within 30 minutes of the facility for on‑call duties.
The RN will circulate and monitor Cath/EP cases, including patient assessments, medication administration, documentation, and collaboration with fellow staff, physicians, and fellows. The RN must wear lead for every procedure, transport patients, interact with vendor representatives regarding devices used in the lab, and manage planned outpatients, inpatients, and emergency cases.
Core Functions- Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge needs; review history; interpret diagnostics and labs; report abnormal results to physicians.
- Formulate and revise a plan of care and discharge plan; collaborate with multidisciplinary team.
- Implement the plan via direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the care team; provide care per physician orders and nursing care plan.
- Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise plan of care; evaluate progress toward goals.
- Document assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the patient record; ensure legible, timely documentation.
- Provide evidence‑based care; may participate in research and unit or facility shared leadership.
- Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, community providers and agencies; support spiritual care when needed.
- Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact RN license if applicable).
- BLS certification required.
- Experience in a cardiac catheterization, CVICU, CVOR, EP, or IR setting within the past 12 months; at least one year of acute‑care hospital experience for registry/travel positions.
- Ability to operate a personal vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license (for home‑health or travel roles).
- Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for applicable behavioral and home‑care positions;
Arizona Criminal History Affidavit signed upon hire.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Professional certification preferred.
- Additional related education or experience preferred.
