Registered Nurse RN PreOP PACU

Location: Tucson, Arizona

Department: Perianesthesia – Hospital

Position: Pre‑op – PACU Registered Nurse

Sign‑On Bonus: $10,000 for external experienced Pre‑op/PACU RN's

Employment Type: Full‑time

Hours per Week: 36 (3–12 hour shifts)

Shift Scheduling: Varied start times from 7AM to 9AM;
Monday–Friday;
On‑call duties required including weekend and holiday rotations. Call rate $5/hr, weekend differential $3/hr, night shift differential 18%.

• Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; review history, labs, diagnostics, and other team members' information.
• Formulate a comprehensive plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and multidisciplinary input; set realistic, measurable goals in collaboration with the patient and family.
• Implement the plan of care via direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the health‑care team; maintain compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise the plan of care as needed based on patient progress and outcomes.
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record; ensure legible, timely, and policy‑compliant records.
• Utilize evidence‑based practice and participate in clinical research activities.
• Participate in shared leadership and educational activities; mentor and precept staff when appropriate.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and national nursing quality indicators.
• Supervise staff and workflow when applicable; interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external partners.

• Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact RN license).
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in acute‑care setting within the past 12 months as a RN in a specialty area (minimum one year for registry and travel acute‑care or physician‑practice positions).< /li>
• Maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations.
• For certain Banner behavioral health or home‑care positions, possession of an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and related certifications as specified.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Professional nursing certification preferred.
• Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
