Agile Occupational Medicine is a leading occupational medicine group with a network of 24 clinics and one surgery center dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare services to businesses and their employees across California and Yuma, Arizona. We specialize in ensuring the health and well-being of workers through a range of medical services, including injury care (workers' compensation), physical examinations (employer services), and commercial (urgent care).

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with physician counterparts to manage the health care needs for specified patient populations. Functions as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate efforts across the health system that maximize clinical and financial outcomes. The Nurse Practitioner will also diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and collaborate with physicians to manage patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
  • Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition. Provides written home-going instructions.
  • Collaborates with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan as necessary.
  • Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
  • Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
  • Maintains medical records using (In some health centers it may be using Electronic Medical Record software).
  • Educates and coaches nursing staff on best nursing practices.
  • May require other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Master's level Nurse Practitioner; preferably with an emphasis in Occupational Health nursing
  • Active and unrestricted California Nurse Practitioner (NP) license required
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
  • BLS/CPR certificate required
  • Certification as an Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S) highly preferred
  • Nurse Practitioner Furnishing and Controlled Substances (DEA) registration certificates
  • Knowledge of the regulatory process and experience in monitoring regulatory developments
  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, collaborative and administrative capabilities, substantial nursing expertise, and demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing principles with strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, State of California and local regulations, including worker's compensation laws and case management experience
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal, and customer service skills
