The registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit provides a high level of care for the Cath Lab patients pre and post procedures. Evaluates assigned patients and plans, implements and documents nursing care. Assists physicians during examinations and procedures. Performs various patient tests and administers medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Our Cardiac Observation Unit (COU) is where our patients are prepped for procedures and recovered post procedure.

Our team works with high risk, high acuity patients and pride ourselves in superb outcomes. Bedside procedures such as Trans esophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Cardioversions (CV) are performed in COU.

• Call requirements have begun and now include Saturday and Sunday.
• Call is on a rotational basis, approximately once every six weeks. But may be as frequent as once every 4 weeks.

MUST HAVE:

• RN-AZ or compact state license
• BLS

Will consider experience in the following areas on a case-by-case basis:

• PACU - ICU - TELEMETRY - CATH LAB - SURGERY CENTER

Description:

• Admit patients
• Prep patients for Cath procedures (charting pre procedure checklist, IV start, access preparation)
• Prep patients for Cardioversions (CV), and Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE)
• Recover patients following Cath who had conscious sedation
• Sedate, Circulate, and document bedside procedures; CV & TEE
• Discharge patients (teaching, documentation, and physical discharge)
