Unit Information:

This is a 12 bed unit with private rooms. One room is utilized as a video epilepsy monitoring room. We care for critically ill infants, children, and young adult patients with diagnoses ranging from respiratory illness/failure, surgical patients, scoliosis surgery, cranial surgeries, diabetes, and medical admissions. All nursing staff is PALS/ACLS certified and take an EKG class. Parents are allowed to be in the room 24/7.

We round bedside with an interdisciplinary team: physicians, nursing, social work, case management, pharmacy, and other ancillary departments. We believe and live: family centered care! The ratio is 1 RN to 1-2 patients.

Requirements:

Education:

Graduation from a qualified, nationally-accredited nursing program.

Experience :
One year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Licensure and Certification:
Current RN licensure permitting work in the State of Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Some departments such as OR, Ambulatory Surgery, Pediatrics/PICU, PACU, and GI Lab will require advanced life support certification (ACLS and PALS).
