Acute Care Registered Nurse
The Acute Care Registered Nurse is responsible for providing competent, evidence-based care to patients with oversight of licensed vocational nurses/nursing assistants as appropriate to the setting. The nurse will assist in directing the provision of nursing education, orientation, competencies and providing quality improvement and enhance outcomes utilization. This nurse integrates knowledge, skills, abilities, and judgment and is self directed in goal setting for managing complex situations.
Validates understanding of the rationale for care processes and decisions. Questions clinical practices for the purpose of providing evidence-based care. The nurse will demonstrate the ability to cope with and manage competing priorities. The nurse demonstrates competence in practice and decision-making, deliberate planning, and critical thinking skills. The incumbent is responsible to the assigned rating and approving supervisors (Nurse Manager and Chief, Acute Care Nursing) and is accountable to the Associate Director of Patient Care Services (ADPCS) through the Deputy Associate Director of Patient Care Services (DADPCS).
Independently plans and delivers technically competent care to patients with complex needs in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. Manages the care of patients, while organizing and prioritizing patient care needs, and ensuring assigned tasks are completed. Functions as an emerging leader in providing direction to staff to identify, implement and evaluate patient care needs. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the plan of care is achieved.
Preferred Experience:
One year of Medical-Surgical clinical experience preferred.
