Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing excellent patient care in the Emergency Room by applying the Nursing Process in compliance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This role requires critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure the safe delivery of care for patients in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and critical thinking in providing patient care.
• Anticipate and plan for the needs of patients in the Emergency Department.
• Guide and supervise assigned personnel in delivering quality patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Participate actively in quality improvement activities within the unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Arizona is required.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically Cerner, is preferred.
• Trauma Level III certification is an asset.
• Certification in NIH Stroke Scale is recommended, though not required.

• Must be willing to float to different units as needed.
• Dress code:
  Black scrubs.
• Facility capacity: 38 beds.
