Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing care to patients in the Emergency Room by utilizing the Nursing Process, in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and established hospital policies and procedures. The role demands critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership capabilities in order to anticipate and plan for the safe delivery of patient care in the Emergency Department.

• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in clinical decision-making.
• Lead and coordinate patient care efforts within the Emergency Department.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and professional development.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to personnel involved in patient care.
• Be willing to float to various areas as needed based on staffing requirements.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Arizona.
• Preferred:
  Experience in a charge nurse capacity.
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR is preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is recommended but not required.
