We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Tucson, Arizona for a 13-week contract assignment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic Progressive Care Unit (PCU) environment while also supporting Med/Surg units as part of the float team. As a PCU/Med-Surg Float RN, you will care for a diverse patient population, manage patients with varying levels of acuity, and collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
This is an excellent opportunity for a flexible and adaptable nurse who enjoys working across different units while expanding their clinical experience.

Responsibilities- Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to patients in the PCU and Med/Surg settings.
- Assess patients, monitor changes in condition, and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
- Care for patients with a variety of medical and surgical diagnoses and varying levels of acuity.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other prescribed interventions safely.
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, laboratory results, and other clinical indicators as appropriate.
- Recognize and promptly communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medications, treatment plans, disease management, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety guidelines.
- Float between PCU and Med/Surg units based on staffing and patient-care needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility and professionalism when adapting to different units, patient populations, and workflows.
- Support a positive, team-oriented environment and advocate for patient needs.
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Previous experience in PCU, Progressive Care, Med/Surg, or a similar acute-care setting.
- Experience caring for patients with varying levels of acuity.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to safely manage multiple patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Comfortable floating between PCU and Med/Surg assignments as needed.
- Current BLS, ACLS certification required.
