Registered Nurse - Cardiac Observation Unit Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
ScheduleVaried shifts including 3 x 12s: Days , , ). Call requirements include Saturday and Sunday on a rotational basis.
Job DescriptionThe registered nurse in the Cardiac Observation Unit provides high-level care for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. This position involves evaluating assigned patients, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care, as well as assisting physicians during examinations and procedures.
Responsibilities- Admit and prep patients for catheterization procedures.
- Start IVs and prepare access for procedures.
- Prep patients for cardioversions and transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Recover patients post-procedure who received conscious sedation.
- Sedate, circulate, and document bedside procedures including cardioversions and TEE.
- Discharge patients with appropriate teaching, documentation, and physical discharge procedures.
- Active RN license in Arizona or compact state.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Experience in PACU, ICU, telemetry, cath lab, or surgery center preferred.
