BLS, Certified in Infection Control (CIC) preferred Must-Have:

- Experience in infection prevention in acute healthcare settings
Description:
The Infection Preventionist RN is responsible for infection prevention and evaluation throughout acute hospital units and ambulatory settings. Daily duties include rounding on acute units and ambulatory areas. Evaluation of hand hygiene practices will be part of the responsibilities. Monitoring infection control measures is essential. Sharing findings and participating in infection surveillance is required. This includes reviewing laboratories and suspected hospital-acquired infections.
Participation in committee and council meetings is expected as appropriate. Reporting and recording required items for the health department is necessary. The position serves as a consultant for infection prevention throughout the hospital as requested. Attending daily safety huddles is part of the routine. Common diagnoses include healthcare-associated infections and device-related infections, as well as communicable diseases. The Infection Preventionist will work closely with other clinicians and providers throughout acute and ambulatory settings.
Experience with EMR systems is necessary, specifically with EPIC and infection prevention software. This role does not require weekend or holiday work. There are no call or standby requirements associated with this position. Business casual attire is expected. Unit-specific orientation will be provided for the role.
