Are you looking for a part-time job in a fun and active environment? Pima County Parks and Recreation is hiring a Recreation Aide to assist with after-school, youth and active adult recreation programs at Drexel Heights Community Center. This position assists in the daily operation of recreational activities, including sports, crafts, and games; maintains facility cleanliness and order; provides information to the public about programs;

handles cash transactions and prepares reports; and supports various recreational events and activities.

• Pay Range: Hiring Range: $16.32 - $19.17 Per Hour;
  Pay Range: $16.32 - $22.03 Per Hour

• Assists in overseeing any one of several recreation activities, such as sports, dance, twirling, crafts and table games
• Assists in operation of leagues, tournaments, meets, and the daily programmed activities
• Interprets and explains game rules and referees and umpires ball games
• Keeps recreation facility in a clean and orderly condition
• Issues receipts
• Prepares cash reports
• Gives information to the public regarding recreation facilities and programs
• Shows movies
• Maintains projection equipment
• Tells or reads stories to children
• Maintains attendance and other records and prepares reports

Any combination of training and experience which demonstrates the minimum knowledge and skills.

• Experience working with children, youth, teens, and/or adults in a recreational, social services, coaching, or educational setting
• Experience with/knowledge of arts and crafts, theater, music, and/or fine arts
• Experience with/knowledge of sports, playground, and group games

Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidates from a referral list provided by Human Resources.

Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.

  Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination.
