Southern Arizona Veterinary Specialty and Emergency (SAVSEC) has open positions for Patient Care Assistants. If you are enthusiastic and outgoing and are dedicated to caring for pets in a medical setting, then we invite you to join our team. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing daily care and support for animals in our facility, ensuring their well-being and comfort.

You will work under the guidance and supervision of the doctor(s) and the Vet Techs on duty. Our staff promotes a friendly and professional environment where emphasis is placed on quality medical care, client education and teamwork.

Education Required/Preferred:

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Veterinary Assistant Certificate preferred.

Experience Required/Preferred:

• One (1) year in veterinary hospital experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
• Comfortable working with animals of all sizes and temperaments
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as needed

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

• Working knowledge of various office equipment (computer, fax, copier)
• Ability to preform blood work on laboratory machines
• Ability to work well with a team
• Able to effectively handle stressful situations
• Ability to maintain a positive work environment
• Ability to preform daily job requirements and duties
• Ability to assist with safe handling and restraint of animals
• Assist with maintaining hospital stocking and cleanliness

Reports to: Veterinary Technician Manager and Assistant Veterinary Technician Manager
