Job Description

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively hiring a part‑time petroleum inspector to join the Caleb Brett team in Tucson, Arizona. The position involves on‑site inspections of commodity lines, tanks, and transport vehicles, with travel to client locations as required.

• Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
• Seal tanker trucks at third‑party terminals.
• Perform volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, etc.
• Conduct visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, and tank trucks.
• Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, and shore tanks.
• Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks.
• Verify and communicate results, entering data into the appropriate media (print or electronic).
• Provide on‑the‑job assistance and receive training from experienced inspectors.
• Communicate and coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel to promote smooth execution of duties.
• Monitor supplies needed for processes and notify the dispatcher or coordinator of any shortages.
• Organize and coordinate jobs to ensure timely service delivery, report submission, and sample tracking.
• Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
• Travel to client locations for onsite inspections.

Full time, plus availability to work on‑call hours.

• High School or GED.
• Basic mathematics and ability to work in an automated environment.
• Ability to work on an on‑call basis and travel as business needs dictate.
• No fear of heights; ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record.
• Physical capability to lift, walk, stand, reach, bend, stoop, climb, squat, and drive as required.
• Ability to perform visual inspections, custody transfer surveys, and equipment calibrations.
• Ability to model Intertek’s 10X Energies and adhere to safety practices and policies.
