Job Overview
Manufacturing Supplier Quality Engineer – Tucson, AZ. This on‑site position will focus on resolving nonconformance in supplied material, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed.
Responsibilities- Utilize analytical capabilities and communication skills to lead rapid resolution of supplier‑caused issues impacting the factory, working with other quality functions and cross‑functional teams.
- Represent supplier assurance as the onsite interface to Raytheon factories supporting factory tier meetings, layered process assessments, and non‑conforming material reviews.
- Analyze supplied material non‑conformance metrics and develop action plans to address top and systemic drivers.
- Investigate issues with supplied material to ensure accuracy of defect documentation, perform robust root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
- Assist with quarantine, containment and screening of suspect defective supplied hardware.
- Work on projects to achieve continuous improvement goals.
Position requires a U.S. government‑issued security clearance, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain and maintain said clearance prior to starting.
QualificationsMust Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a related quality, operations, engineering or technical discipline.
- Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) tools and processes.
- Experience with ISO
9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System. - Experience with hardware inspection techniques and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance.
Preferred
- Proven success in building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
- Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test and delivery.
- High computer proficiency, including skills working with SAP/PRISM and Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Six Sigma, Lean and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification.
