Senior Program Quality Engineer

At RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company we are seeking an onsite Senior Program Quality Engineer (PQE) to serve within the Precision Fires and Maneuver team in Tucson, AZ. The PQE will support Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) as well as production contracts, ensuring program goals are met while staying compliant with AS9100 requirements.

What You will Do
  • Serve as a member of the Javelin Program team, ensuring successful program performance and delivering conforming products/services through effective collaboration and compliance with processes and procedures.
  • Lead integration and implementation of cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment with quality and customer requirements per the program quality plan.
  • Serve as a program quality liaison across customer organizations (DCMA and USG), as well as relevant factories and engineering labs as first responder for quality issues and concerns related to development and production products.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and partner with program leadership to define and implement quality improvement strategies.
  • Support supplier quality and supplier engineering efforts to help ensure compliance with the supplier program quality plan.
  • Review and approve changes to the technical data package, assign actions when necessary and complete actions in a timely manner when assigned, including but not limited to: peer reviews, engineering review/Change Control Board (ERB/CCB) and/or design reviews.
  • Ensure all development hardware (engineering, proof of design and proof of manufacturing) are appropriately documented in the quality history records and align with quality and customer requirements per the program quality plan.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience in quality management, quality assurance, engineering and/or manufacturing.
  • Working experience with Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102.
  • Experience leading teams in failure and root‑cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings.
  • Working experience with technical data package review (TDP) and document repository.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • ASQ Certification and/or Program Management Certification.
  • Experience with Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) or another continuous improvement program.
  • Experience using resources such as 5S, root‑cause, process mapping, Lean Six Sigma (6σ).
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145 and utilizing resources such as PPAP, key characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA, and/or Control Plans.
  • Experience in first‑article inspections per AS9102.
  • Experience with configuration control systems such as cPDM and/or CABS.
  • Experience reviewing statement of work (SOW), supplier corrective action requests (SCAR), and knowledge of purchase order quality requirements (Q‑Notes, STAMP).
  • Experience presenting, reviewing and/or approving changes through a formal Change Control Board (CCB).
  • Experience translating system requirements and contractual requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product, assembly, and test documentation.
  • Experience working as an individual contributor and in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience working with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.

  • Compensation range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD, determined by experience and qualifications.
