Frequent travel is required. This position cannot be performed remotely, with a requirement to be on site at a CBP facility in Tucson, AZ.

This position requires a tower climb-certified professional at the competent level or above who can serve as the on-site subject matter expert, independently support and lead deployment-related activities, inspect work performed by outside vendors, and validate compliance at CBP-owned or leased tower locations.
Deployment and Sustainment Oversight- Oversee and manage deployment and sustainment activities to ensure all work is performed in accordance with established requirements, industry standards, and program objectives.
- Support planning, execution, monitoring, and quality control of system deployments, civil buildouts, and sustainment operations.
- Conduct detailed field observations of systems undergoing deployment or sustainment.
- Monitor deployment progress, identify discrepancies or issues, and verify compliance with applicable technical, safety, and operational requirements.
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols, safety regulations, and technical specifications.
- Conduct physical configuration audits, support system acceptance inspections, and oversee functional testing requirements.
- Identify issues and risks within deployment plans and recommend corrective actions or mitigation strategies.
- Support timely delivery of required objectives by assisting with schedule and resource management.
- Perform tower inspections in accordance with applicable Tower Industry Association standards, including TIA-222-G.
- Climb towers at existing site heights to inspect, validate, and document work performed by vendors on or near CBP-owned or leased towers.
- Serve as the on-site subject matter expert for tower climbing, tower inspection, and related deployment activities.
- Independently lead or support field deployment activities requiring tower access and inspection expertise.
- Abide by all applicable CBP policies, site-specific requirements, Appendix A requirements, and professional conduct standards at all CBP tower locations.
- Review deployment and sustainment documentation and provide recommendations as needed.
- Review Joint Acceptance Inventories (JAI) As-Built drawings, system diagrams, statements of work, technical documentation, operational documentation, deployment checklists, and related materials.
- Ensure documentation aligns with applicable standards, program objectives, and industry best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date deployment and sustainment documentation.
- Upload, organize, and manage deployment-related materials, including deployment checklists, inventories of decommissioned equipment, and deployment observation reports.
- Prepare comprehensive daily reports documenting field observations, deployment activities, issues, risks, and actions taken.
