Position Highlights: The position takes care of several aspects of moderately complex in‑vivo experiments and breeding for users of the Experimental Mouse Shared Resource (EMSR), including hands‑on duties, user communication via email, administrative tasks, equipment operation and troubleshooting, and inventory management for the EMSR refrigerator/freezer program used by Cancer Center and University laboratories.

Responsibilities- Complete complex mouse line breeding (25+ lines) for investigators, including ear tagging, tail tipping, and genotyping.
- Make breeding decisions and develop innovative strategies when required genotypes are not available.
- Assist in creating new strains through breeding.
- Carry out in‑vivo experiments per written designs: measurements, injections, timing, dosing, and necropsy harvests.
- Refine experiment parameters under supervisor guidance to respond to situational demands.
- Maintain numerous apparatus essential to experiments.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and requestors via email, phone, and in person.
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, breeding, data analysis, specimen cataloging, and laboratory supplies.
- Process p‑card transactions, ensure correct equipment maintenance, and manage billing files for genotype services.
- Knowledge of mouse breeding schemas and application.
- Knowledge of in‑vivo techniques such as injections, measurements, and weighing.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various groups.
- Knowledge of cancer research and cell culture experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Experience working in a science‑related laboratory.

Rate of Pay: $16.50 – $20.63 hourly.
FLSA: Non‑Exempt.
