Position: Research Data Support Specialist II (Part Time)(Temporary)

Overview

The Research Data Support Specialist II will support the One Health Initiative within the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health by supporting and maintaining a database of interdisciplinary projects and collaborations. Under the guidance of the One Health Director and Program Lead, the Specialist will ensure accurate documentation and support knowledge sharing to advance program goals and sustainability.

Responsibilities
  • Database Maintenance:
    Under the guidance of the Director, provide assistance with database-related tasks for the One Health Initiative projects and collaborations, such as receiving, updating, cleaning and reconciling research data.
  • Transferring data from an Excel spreadsheet into a database with query functions and maintaining it.
  • Data Collection & Reporting:
    Collect, organize, and manipulate research data from One Health program lead to support interdisciplinary projects and generate standard and routine reports.
  • Documentation Maintenance:
    Under the guidance of the Director, maintain documentation and resources on database use and data management procedures.

Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of research methods, data management, and database design.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and software (e.g., statistical packages, databases).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills for preparing reports and training others.
  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and work independently in a part-time, temporary role.
  • Training and instructional skills to guide others in database use and data management practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
