Research Technician II
The Stern Laboratory, within the Department of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Research Technician II to support research aimed at understanding the role of aging in metabolic disease progression. The incumbent is expected to perform wet laboratory and in vivo animal procedures, clean/maintain laboratory equipment, and maintain the Stern laboratory's mouse colony. The selected applicant must be comfortable and efficient in a fast-paced, dynamic, and growing environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform in vivo animal studies and wet laboratory experiments, per established protocols, and with guidance from the PI and other lab members.
- Gather data generated from experiments and prepare data figures.
- Perform the husbandry, breeding, weaning, and genotyping of mice in the Stern laboratory mouse colony, and assign mice to specific Stern laboratory studies.
- Maintain mouse colony databases.
- Perform laboratory maintenance duties including ordering supplies and preparation of solutions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper operation, calibration, and cleanliness, and perform other lab related tasks as needed.
- Assist PI in preparation of data figures for manuscripts and grant applications and conference presentations.
- Using data analysis and graphing software, process and graph data to be included in manuscripts, grants, and presentations that disseminate the findings of Stern laboratory research to funding agencies and the scientific community.
- Participate in lab meetings and other scientific discussions.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience is required.
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
