Position: Research Technician I (Temporary)

The University of Arizona's Reproductive Toxicology Laboratory, led by Dr. Zelieann R. Craig in the School of Animal & Comparative Biomedical Sciences, is seeking an inquisitive, well-organized, and highly motivated individual for the position of Research Technician I. The successful candidate will work independently using a variety of established protocols including molecular biology and physiological techniques to examine the effects of environmental chemicals on female reproductive system function.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare for and perform predetermined experiments under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI) (or their delegate) to meet the objectives of the research project.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures, analyses, and results.
  • Perform administrative and laboratory maintenance duties such as bookkeeping, ordering supplies, preparing solutions, and waste disposal.
  • Report experiment progress to Principal Investigator.
  • Complete data-sharing tasks and other activities for the dissemination of results under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (or their delegate).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledgeable of biological and chemical safety.
  • Knowledgeable of animal care and use procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of basic female reproductive physiology.
  • Skilled in cell and tissue culture protocols.
  • Skilled in conducting viability and hormone assays.
  • Skilled in image acquisition and analysis.
  • Skilled in animal handling.
  • Skilled in data processing, visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and with others at various career levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to have a high degree of accountability, determination and curiosity.
