Research Associate II – Cytology
We are seeking a Research Associate II – Cytology to support research, development, and laboratory activities within a regulated diagnostic environment. This role will contribute to laboratory experimentation, data analysis, documentation, and process improvement initiatives supporting innovative diagnostic products.
The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of relevant post-college laboratory experience, strong attention to detail, and hands-on experience with cytology or related laboratory techniques.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and execute laboratory experiments and protocols with minimal supervision.
- Perform laboratory testing, make observations, analyze experimental data, and interpret results.
- Prepare technical reports, study summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and compliant laboratory records and documentation.
- Troubleshoot experimental or laboratory issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Apply scientific knowledge and technical expertise to support project objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and contribute to project planning.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with evaluating new methods, techniques, and technologies.
- Share technical knowledge and train colleagues on laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Follow applicable quality and regulatory requirements, including GMP, GLP, and Design Control practices.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and consistent laboratory practices.
- Review scientific literature and apply relevant findings to laboratory activities.
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Science or a related scientific discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant post-college laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience with a range of laboratory techniques.
- Ability to design, execute, document, and analyze laboratory experiments.
- Strong data analysis and technical documentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or comparable software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Willingness to learn new laboratory techniques and processes.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working with cytology specimens.
- Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with GMP, GLP, or Design Control requirements.
- Experience with laboratory troubleshooting and process improvement.
