Application and Special InstructionsThis is a non-permanent position that will work on an intermittent or seasonal basis. Individuals in this classification may not exceed 1,300 hours in a 12-month period. The typical number of hours for this position will not exceed 24 hours/week.
Candidates selected for hire must successfully pass the following:
- Background Investigation
- AZDPS/FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Check
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler Certification
- Ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card within 90 days of Hire
- Ability to obtain a CPR/First-Aid Certification within 90 days
Position Specific
Summary:
The Food Service Worker will be responsible for assisting the kitchen manager in preparing meals for our senior community as well as maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
- Cleans and prepares produce for current and upcoming meals.
- Adheres to food safety rules and regulations for labeling, dating, and storing food in proper locations and temperatures.
- Assists in serving, packaging, plating, and assembling food items to ensure they are ready for guests.
- Sets up salad bar and beverage station and ensures these workstations remain fully stocked and clean.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of equipment and utensils in workspace by washing, sanitizing, drying, and properly storing items.
- Cleans and sanitizes seating areas and food preparation areas, sweeps, mops, and disposes of trash.
- Assists in taking inventory of food and supplies, unloads and stocks supplies.
- Organizational skills, pays attention to detail, knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, flexibility, willing to adapt to changing menu requirements and kitchen needs.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Some exposure to light physical or environmental conditions (noise, dust, weather, etc.). All duties and responsibilities listed are subject to change.
Minimum Qualifications EducationSome high school
Work ExperienceUnder one (1) year of directly related experience
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in food preparation and handling.
- Experience in a commercial, institutional, or senior nutrition food service environment.
- Experience maintaining food safety records and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Experience leading volunteers or temporary staff in a food service setting.

Compensation Grade G1008 Hourly Range $15.45 - 22.50 USD
