Copenhagen Furniture is a family-owned and operated furniture retailer known for providing unique modern furnishings with exceptional customer service.
We are seeking a motivated, people-oriented Sales & Design Associate to join our sales team. In this role you’ll guide customers through the full buying journey, deliver thoughtful design consultations, and build long-term customer relationships. We are looking for someone who has strong interpersonal skills, who is motivated by collaborating and interacting with others, and has a desire to grow their career at Copenhagen through professional development.
CompensationOur average sales & design consultant typically can earn between $70k - $110k per year and may choose their payment structure –
base salary $30,000 plus commission or strict commission
. Our sales teams can also take advantage of vendor promotions/incentives and spiffs.
- Guide customers in store and by phone through product selection and the buying process
- Deliver design consultations using 3D floor-planning tools and create solutions for customer spaces (furniture layout, scale, finishes, and custom orders)
- Present product knowledge and recommendations to help customers find the best solutions for their home and budget
- Close sales and manage follow-up (orders, custom specifications)
- Use store systems for order processing, quoting, and customer communication
- Communicate proactively with delivery teams, drivers, and sales staff about timing and special requests
- Maintain the showroom (staging, merchandising, and cleanliness) to create an inviting customer experience
- Meet or exceed sales goals and participate in spiff/promotional programs
- Full-time availability: weekend coverage is required (schedules provide two consecutive days off per week)
- Retail and/or Design Experience is preferred

High school diploma or G.E.D. - Design consultation or space-planning experience preferred (experience with 3D floor-planning software is a plus)
- Computer literacy and comfort learning sales/design software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills — relationship building is key
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Must consent to a pre-employment drug test and background check
