Job Summary

Position: Resale Store Associate / General Staff
Work Status: Full Time
Pay: $15.45 per hour
Hours: Monday - Saturday;
MUST WORK THURSDAYS, FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS (absolutely no exceptions)

Main duties of the Store Associate include ringing up sales, bagging items, requesting price checks, honoring coupons, collecting payment and giving appropriate change. The associate counts the contents of the cash register drawer at the end of each shift, maintains receipts and records, and assists customers while maintaining a professional appearance of self and the store. They work to create a welcoming, loving atmosphere for guests, staff, volunteers, and the recovery community.

Responsibilities
  • Have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Assist in the general operation and success of the resale store, including receiving and processing donations, and displaying merchandise.
  • Open and close the store; available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Accept, sort, and price donations for resale according to store policy and procedures.
  • Uphold the cash handling policy and properly execute its procedures.
  • Assist management in overseeing day‑to‑day operations.
  • Represent the resale store with a positive image.
  • Maintain proper inventories of retail merchandise and organize the storage area.
  • Answer customer phone inquiries.
  • Occasionally perform light sweeping and mopping.
  • Uphold biblical standards in all facets of job performance.
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with co‑workers and members.
  • Learn and follow store policies, procedures and all applicable city, county, and state regulations regarding retail sales.
  • Participate in in‑service trainings.
  • Perform other appropriate tasks as assigned or requested by management.
Qualifications
  • Experience in retail management (1+ years) preferred.
  • Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills, including enthusiasm, friendliness and energy.
  • Ability to multi‑task in a busy store while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Proven teamwork and adaptability in a multi‑faced agency.
  • Personal conduct and standards that reflect the ministry’s values.
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Commitment to respectful, cooperative interaction with coworkers.
  • Ability to remain calm under changing priorities or tense situations and use common sense.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must successfully pass an FBI fingerprint clearance check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Successful clearance of criminal background check(s), Central Registry in Arizona and any state(s) lived in within 5 years of hire.
  • Personal growth in leadership and spiritual life.
  • Basic math skills and sound attendance and performance standards.
  • Adhere to company dress code and appearance policy.
  • Awareness of monthly sales goals and use them to encourage daily sales.
  • Available to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, courtesy, tact and sound judgment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, taking initiative without direct supervision.
  • Must pass a mandatory drug screen.
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Human Resource package completed.
