Your local Ace Hardware is in search of a Store Manager. This person will be responsible for all aspects of running the store on a daily basis, including helping maximize store sales and profitability, ensuring that the store is optimally stocked and merchandised, and that all customers are provided with excellent customer service.

Candidates MUST be highly motivated. We're looking for a “people” person: helpful, cheerful, positive attitude with managerial experience. The Store Manager must be committed to good work, and can supervise, lead, and motivate others. They must delegate, train, and monitor the progress of all associates and all facets of the hardware store.

Retail management experience required, hardware knowledge extremely beneficial.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds consistently, stand, and walk for up to 8 hours during shift.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all store employees’ activity to ensure that the store is running efficiently and profitably.
  • Oversee retail inventory to maintain stock levels, ensure report accuracy and to reduce shrinkage
  • Maintain employee scheduling
  • Ensure merchandising and visual presentation standards
  • Make sure safety policies and procedures are enforced
  • Take on tasks and projects as requested by Store Owners and General Manager.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience:

    3-5 years retail management as a store manager or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage demands in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Product knowledge of hardware related products preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word and Excel a plus.
PAY:

$20/hour during the training period (timeframe determined by progression, usually up to 90 days)

$900/week salaried after training period
