Sales Associate/Assistant, Inside Sales

Counter Sales associate is primarily responsible for selling and promoting HVAC products in person at the sales counter and/or over the phone. Provides product quotes, enters orders into the computer system, and relays pertinent order information to the customer.
$22.32 - $28.37 per hour. Monday‑Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Receive and process requests directly from external/internal customers for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations.
- Accumulate all necessary information to prepare quotations on special items and assist and coordinate efforts with other company personnel to deliver quotations on special items.
- Use the computer system to retrieve customer information, stock status information, the status of purchase orders, and make changes as needed. Enter orders accurately in a timely manner and ensure correct codes are used.
- Follow up on orders by checking the computer system and with other departments for delivery information, expedite delivery of scheduled shipments, and communicate information to the customer.
- Process required information in the computer system to ensure accurate credit is given to customers for returned goods.
- Exhibit friendly and helpful attitude, establish and maintain customer relationships by solving customer problems, utilizing product knowledge to satisfy customer needs, and offering outstanding customer‑focused service.
- Provide counter sales support and backup as needed.
- Participate in product meetings, seminars and training schools to enhance and maintain product knowledge.
- Maintain excellent attendance and meet deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be self‑motivated, exceptionally well organized, and always customer‑service oriented.
- General knowledge of HVAC.
- General knowledge of sheet metal product fabrication (a plus).
- Administrative/Clerical experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Customer‑oriented with excellent verbal communication skills and strong phone skills.
- Ability to analyze customer needs and recommend the proper course of action.
- Ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks, projects and deadlines.
- Keep abreast of product applications and technology trends.
- Pass background check and drug screen.
