Job Overview
The Travel Advisor position is a part‑time, onsite role at AAA Tucson, requiring 24 hours per week with Saturdays mandatory. The advisor provides exceptional travel sales and support experiences, tailoring AAA products and services to create unique vacations.

- Owns the member relationship from start to finish of each travel‑related transaction.
- Sell international and domestic vacation packages, cruises, tours, hotel, car rental, rail, and air travel.
- Initiate contact with members, past customers, and community prospects to generate new business and encourage repeat business.
- Maintain minimum production goals in travel sales and sales of AAA travel partner and proprietary products (Sojourns, AAA Vacations).
- Cross‑sell products such as credit cards and memberships, independently and with specialized team members.
- Research, evaluate, and compare AAA Travel Partner packages to match member needs and deliver exceptional experiences.
- Stay current with world events, travel industry developments, and trends to provide relevant information.
- Investigate and respond to travel‑related member questions/complaints and recommend solutions.
- Handle ticketing for air, hotel, car, and rail, along with primary member servicing.
- Utilize industry‑specific systems (GDS, e.g., Apollo, Galileo) and Google Workspace applications.
- Apply good judgment and decision making to identify customer needs and ensure high booking accuracy.
- High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 3+ years of general sales experience.
- 3+ years of recent experience selling international and domestic travel services (preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of computer applications, including Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with industry‑specific systems (GDS such as Galileo, VAX, Apollo, Travelport).
- Strong consultative selling skills, with ability to listen to members’ needs.
- Self‑motivated sales drive and documented sales success.
- Detailed knowledge of travel products and worldwide geography.
- Ability to identify customer needs, recommend solutions, and apply good judgment.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual communication skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Branch‑based position requiring regular presence on a desk or computer workstation for extended periods, occasional evenings for special events, and Saturday availability. May involve travel by car, plane, or other transportation to attend business meetings or conferences.
