Job Overview
As the manager of the Reagent and Health Performance (RHP) team, you will oversee headcount, budget, and logistics to ensure products are robust and sustainable. You will set high standards for efficiency and drive the seamless transition of complex assays across their entire lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop team members to support career growth and team success.
- Lead commercialization of new products and monitor post-launch products.
- Evaluate on‑market portfolio risks, design fit‑for‑purpose testing, and conduct failure investigations.
- Ensure milestones, timelines, and deliverables are met for development and on‑market support projects.
- Serve as a Product Owner in a SAFe Agile environment, driving execution and priorities.
- Partner cross‑functionally to align with company objectives and project commitments.
- Translate complex technical data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Foster an open, innovative, and collaborative environment during process and assay development.
- Maintain key laboratories and equipment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and Roche standards.
- Explore new methodologies, processes, and ways of working to improve reagent quality and efficiencies.
- Contribute to the ACT and OAD Leadership Teams and other strategic initiatives.
- BS (with ≥8 years experience), MS (with ≥6 years), or PhD (with ≥4 years) in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related scientific discipline.
- At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in scientific research and product development.
- Minimum 1 year of direct management and/or project management experience.
- Deep knowledge of chemistry, biochemistry, and molecular biology principles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex information clearly.
- Comprehensive knowledge of developing, implementing, and supporting reagent‑based products in FDA/IVDR regulated environments.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, guide, and manage in both matrixed and direct‑line environments.
- Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies is highly valued.
Salary range: $116,500 – $216,300 (based on Tucson, AZ primary location). Additional discretionary annual bonus and relocation benefits may be available. The position offers an attractive benefits package in accordance with Roche’s Compensation & Benefits program.
