Clinical Research Assistant – Department of Surgery (Part-Time)

The Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma, Critical Care, Burns, and Emergency Surgery seeks a part‑time Clinical Research Assistant to support clinical trauma research. The role requires evening and weekend availability and involves direct observation, data collection, screening and enrollment of participants in studies on hemorrhage control, resuscitation, spinal cord injury, surgical site infections, traumatic brain injury, and related subjects.

• Screen and evaluate potential study participants for eligibility.
• Complete and maintain case report forms and participant binders, ensuring consents are current.
• Enter study data into the electronic database accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor patients throughout the clinical pathway (trauma, OR, IR, ICU, clinic) to ensure protocol adherence.
• Notify the Trauma Research Manager of any protocol issues or concerns.
• Coordinate required lab testing and scheduling with Banner lab in collaboration with the Trauma Research Manager.
• Attend site visits and contribute to additional duties or projects as assigned.
• Explain the study, obtain consent, and enroll participants.

• Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision with general expectations.

• High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
