Our client is looking for an Environmental Scientist who will report to the Senior Environmental Scientist, and will provide technical support and guidance to the construction and operating teams through preparation of compliance reports and Environmental Management System protocols. This position ensures compliance with regulatory and permit requirements through data collection, review and tracking, conducting field inspections and coordinating with site personnel.

  • Assists in the development of field procedures and site plans for chemical and waste management.
  • Review of contractor proposals to ensure alignment with standard operating procedures.
  • Reviews new chemical products before site approval.
  • Works with the Project team to ensure construction activities comply with environmental plans, policies, permits, etc.
  • Coordinates planning, project execution and data analyses for environmental scientific studies in collaboration with senior staff.
  • Maintains records, prepares reports, composes correspondence and performs other administrative activities as necessary to meet compliance requirements.
  • Conducts field inspections related to construction or other engineering activities and coordinates with employees, contractors, consultants, and other teams.
  • Leads the installation, operation and maintenance activities associated with scientific equipment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in environmental science, chemistry, geology, natural resources, or other science degree.
  • Advance level of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in environmental-related field preferred.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro software a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively, with limited supervision, with a diverse group of professionals in a collaborative work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels confidently and effectively within the company.
