Position Highlights

The Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health is accepting applications for a Research Technician II to support community-based liver health research. This position plays a vital role in advancing innovative research focused on liver disease prevention and detection through partnerships with community healthcare providers. Responsibilities include coordinating participant appointments, performing non-invasive liver assessments using a Fibro Scan device, managing study-related data and documentation, and serving as the primary liaison with a community clinical partner.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operates and maintains the Fibro Scan machine to collect non-invasive liver data.
  • Calibrates equipment, performs quality checks, and ensures data accuracy.
  • Assists with participant intake, including collecting health information and preparing individuals for Fibro Scan testing.
  • Records and compiles research data from testing sessions.
  • Performs basic calculations and ensures secure data entry.
  • Assists with study logistics by supporting scheduling of participants and coordinating testing space/equipment availability.
  • Provides routine administrative and technical support, including ordering supplies, maintaining records, and supporting protocol documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with conducting Fibro Scans in community and clinical settings.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, including the ability to translate verbal and written communications, is preferred.
