General Summary
An HVAC Technician to perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of commercial and residential HVAC systems. Work will be performed throughout Southern Arizona at U.S. Border Patrol Stations, 4-10s. No on‑call. Must pass the Department of Homeland Security Background Investigation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance
- Troubleshoot problems
- Repair HVAC systems
- Remove and install equipment
- Communicate equipment deficiencies
- Work with others
- Must pass the Department of Homeland Security Background Investigation
- Ability to perform most tasks of the craft without supervision
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, construction drawings, schematics, and diagrams
- Ability to drive safely
- Trained in handling all types and sizes of air conditioning, refrigeration, and evaporative cooling equipment
- EPA certification for purchasing and handling ozone‑depleting chemicals as outlined in federal and state regulations
- Ability to work in a team
- Boiler and chiller experience a plus
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods; climb a ladder and stand for long periods; constant arm extensions
- Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable; may involve minor safety hazards resulting in cuts, bruises, etc.
- Driving two to four hours daily
Base salary range: $24.97–$30.00 per hour
