GPS Field Technician

• Configure GPS base stations, rovers and automated machine controls on heavy earthmoving and paving equipment.
• Perform grade checking to verify elevations, slopes, and alignment according to project plans.
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot GPS equipment, total stations, and laser levels.
• Interpret blueprints, site plans, and staking information.
• Set and verify control points, hubs, and offsets.
• Communicate grade and layout information clearly to operators and field crews.
• Monitor and ensure accuracy during earthwork, paving, and utility installation.
• Maintain daily records of measurements and site activities.
• Other duties as required.

High school diploma or GED, preferred.

2 years of experience in grade checking, surveying, or GPS.

Experience working with Trimble GPS, Topcon, or similar.

Part 107, preferred.

Experience utilizing Civil 3D design software to complete project needs.

• Ability to wear a full body harness and work at heights while tied off.
• Ability to work day, swing, and night shifts (occasionally extended hours).
• Ability to work in constant exposure to outside elements, in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work in safety sensitive construction setting, including exposure to moving machinery and heavy equipment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast‑paced and complex environment.
• Ability to squat, crawl, and work in awkward positions/confined spaces.

• Physical dexterity, stamina, and excellent hand-eye coordination with ability to grasp, assemble, and lift objects.
• Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods over uneven surfaces, squat, bend, climb ladders onto equipment or other objects, and potentially lie down.
• Lifting, pushing, pulling of heavy items weighing up to 50lbs. or more.
