Position
Industrial Plumber / Pipe Fitter – Onsite (U.S. Citizen Required – Security Clearance Needed)
Location1151 E Hermans Rd, Building 830 (External Site), Tucson, AZ
PayStarting wage: $29.58 per hour.
Security ClearanceDoD Secret clearance – Active and transferable required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Responsibilities- Determine routing, sequencing, and placement of pipework, plumbing fixtures, valves, and related equipment in accordance with specifications, blueprints, codes, and safety standards.
- Compute pipe sizes, quantities, and materials needed, factoring in pressure, volume, gradient, temperature, and fluid characteristics.
- Mark and layout guidelines on walls, floors, ceilings; set stakes to locate routes, vents, and connections.
- Execute working sketches and install, connect, and test sanitary and industrial plumbing fixtures and systems, including fire sprinkler, irrigation, steam, and high‑pressure air.
- Fabricate air hoses and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair major plumbing failures such as sewage, gas, and steam line breakdowns, and other processing equipment issues.
- Prepare material take‑off lists, order parts directly from vendors, and manage procurement through plant site stores.
- Erect and disassemble scaffolding as required for safe access and completion of tasks.
- Perform rework and additional duties that support plant operations, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as an industrial plumber or pipe fitter.
- Capability to work any shift, including overnight hours.
- Proficiency in interpreting oral and written instructions, blueprints, and applicable specifications and codes.
- Experience installing, repairing, assembling, and maintaining plant plumbing, compressed‑air, hot‑water, and steam systems.
- Familiarity with de‑ionized (DI) water systems, chemical waste systems, halon and deluge fire protection systems.
- Pass a technical interview.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance before the start date; U.S. citizenship required.
