Service Plumber I - IV
As a Service Plumber (Levels I–IV), you'll play a vital role in commercial plumbing service, progressing from entry-level assistance to master-level expertise in maintaining, repairing, installing, and troubleshooting plumbing systems across diverse facilities including hospitals, schools, offices, retail spaces, and industrial sites. Work on hands-on tasks—from basic fixture repairs and preventive maintenance to leading complex service calls, crew oversight, project planning, and system commissioning—collaborating with teams, foremen, and clients to deliver code-compliant, reliable solutions that ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability nationwide.
Our people-first culture invests in your growth at every level with structured training, mentorship, apprenticeships, certifications (e.g., backflow, medical gas), and clear advancement paths, empowering you to build a rewarding career while keeping critical plumbing infrastructure running flawlessly for communities to thrive.
Duties vary by level, with increasing independence, complexity, leadership, and responsibility:
- Level I (Entry-Level) :
Assist experienced plumbers with preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning drains/fixtures, replacing basic components (washers, seals, gaskets), and minor repairs under direct supervision; perform general site support (tool/parts prep, cleanup, material handling); participate in safety briefings and learn plumbing codes, systems, and best practices through on-the-job training. - Level II (Mid-Level) :
Independently handle routine to moderately complex repairs, installations, and maintenance (pipe repairs, fixture replacements, backflow testing, leak detection, system flushing); lead standard service calls, document work accurately, and begin mentoring Level I plumbers by demonstrating techniques and safety practices. - Level III (Senior/Journeyman-Level) :
Lead advanced service calls with minimal supervision; perform complex diagnostics, repairs, and installations (hydronic systems, medgas, backflow prevention, boiler/pump servicing); conduct preventive programs, water quality testing, and system optimizations; provide daily guidance, training, and direction to Levels I–II plumbers; ensure code compliance and high-quality customer communication. - Level IV (Master/Lead-Level) :
Collaborate with General Foreman, Superintendent, and Project Manager to develop service plans, labor/material requirements, takeoffs, and field surveys; oversee daily crew functions, scheduling, inspections, weekly reports (safety/production), and startup/commissioning coordination; proactively resolve issues, train/mentor the team on advanced techniques and safety, and drive efficiency across jobsites.
All levels:
Enforce and uphold strict safety protocols (daily hazard assessments, toolbox talks, PPE usage); document work, progress, and incidents accurately; actively pursue personal/professional growth in commercial plumbing practices, codes, and technologies.
- Level I & II:
None (individual contributor; may offer informal guidance to lower levels). - Level III:
Provides coaching, mentoring, and technical guidance to Levels I–II; may lead small service crews or coordinate with subcontractors. - Level IV:

- Level III: 5+ years with journeyman-level proficiency; proven mastery in diagnosing/resolving advanced issues independently.
