Smyth Industries Welding/ Fabrication Division is currently searching for an individual with Water Infrastructure Industry experience as a Manufacturing Welder to help enhance our current team. We provide full-service electrical, civil, manufacturing, engineering and general contracting services for the water and reclamation industry.
The ideal candidate will foster teamwork and create a positive work environment in a fast‑paced industry, while helping our Arizona clients engineer, rehabilitate, manufacture and construct water distribution and treatment infrastructure.

In your job, you will have the ability to make a difference in the water and reclamation industry by:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Exhibit technical knowledge and experience in welding and fabrication trade.
- Provide effective project communication, both orally and in writing.
- Understand and work from shop drawings.
- Thrive in a team environment and work with other divisions.
- Complete non‑routine tasks as assigned.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.
- Perform skilled, semi‑skilled, and unskilled labor related to installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of welding and fabrication tasks.
- Reassemble equipment using hand tools.
- Select tools to complete daily job tasks.
- Use basic hand tools to perform daily job functions: screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, cordless drills, hand‑operated saw, level, grinders, etc.
- Fabricate water tanks in the field or shop using common arc welding techniques such as TIG, ARC, MIG, spray transfer, and spot.
- Perform general site clean‑up, digging trenches, staging material, or other duties as assigned.
- Mentor field staff to develop ways to more efficiently complete assigned tasks while building a strong team environment.
- Develop a team relationship with other divisions sharing resources to successfully complete projects on time and under budget.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long‑term partnerships with client base and stakeholders.
- Lead a team, complete project assigned tasks, while working under minimal supervision.
Ability to thrive in a team environment and work with other divisions.
Minimum Qualifications- 1-4 years of welding and fabrication experience.
- Maintain the appropriate certification for the specific welding techniques required for the job used in the field or shop (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G or 6G).
