Field Service Technicians play a critical role in supporting equipment startup and troubleshooting system performance issues in mission‑critical environments.
* This position MAY require travel up to 100%*
Pay: $40 – $48 per hour
Travel may be required depending on project assignment. Travel costs covered by company (flight, hotel, and car rental).

What You’ll DoField Service Technicians support the startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mission‑critical cooling systems used in hyperscale data centers. This is a hands‑on technical role that requires troubleshooting tasks with minimal supervision while supporting senior technicians during complex startup activities.
Equipment Startup & Commissioning Support- Support startup and commissioning activities for cooling systems including Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAH), In‑Row Heat Exchangers (IRHX), and Data Center Air Handling Units (DAHU).
- Executing pre‑functional equipment checks.
- Assisting with functional commissioning tests.
- Verifying equipment installation and piping connections.
- Identifying system performance issues.
- Diagnose and assist in resolving issues involving hydronic cooling systems, chilled water systems, glycol cooling loops, air handling equipment, pumps, and valves.
- Understand system flow and assist with identifying root causes of equipment performance issues.
- Troubleshoot issues involving 120V and 480V electrical systems, VFD operation, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Read electrical schematics and assist with diagnosing system control issues.
- Participate in daily safety meetings.
- Coordinate with startup leads and senior technicians.
- Support commissioning activities.
- Maintain organized documentation and equipment records.
- Communicate effectively primarily using Microsoft Teams.
- Assist with completing startup checklists, equipment inspection reports, field troubleshooting notes, end‑of‑day reports, monthly expense reports (within 7 days of receipt).
- Complete all safety documentation, including JHA, JSA, and PTP.
- Enjoy diagnosing mechanical and electrical system issues.
- Take pride in figuring out why equipment is not operating correctly.
- Work well in fast‑paced project environments.
- Communicate clearly with team members.
- Continue developing their troubleshooting skills.
- 3–7 years’ experience working with HVAC, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.
- Experience working with hydronic systems preferred.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and piping diagrams.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics and control systems.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Reliable transportation required for local travel when applicable.
- Willing to fly to work regions.
- Commercial HVAC service experience.
- Turbocor compressor system experience.
- Ability to work in active construction environments.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds.
- Ability to work extended hours during critical startup periods.
