Your impactAs a Facility Maintenance Technician basked in Tucson, AZ, you’ll perform a variety of tasks in the preventive and corrective maintenance, repair of equipment, instruments, processes and support systems of a Central Utility and/or Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant on an assigned shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Applies knowledge to the principles, practices and methods of industrial treatment processes and conveyance system operations including but not limited to water, wastewater, and remediation systems.
- Responds to maintenance requests and handles any necessary repairs, such as fixing flooring, drywall, plaster, and painting with different types of painting equipment including pressurized sprayers.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses and repairs facility equipment including instrument calibration and preventive maintenance.
- Performing quality checks on HVAC, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical systems
- Conducts routine preventive maintenance on plant systems to ensure the integrity and reliability of the utility distribution and/or treatment systems.
- Checking and responding to security and safety issues
- Testing and recommending new maintenance products.
- Monitors, utilizes, and modifies the CMMS system to assure maximum effectiveness; provides required and appropriate documentation.
- Coordinating deliveries from vendors and suppliers
- Keeping documents of inspections and problems
- Exercises independent judgment in solving normal work problems under general supervision using standard and special mechanical and electrical tools and equipment.
- Doing landscaping, general maintenance and pest control
- Keeping an inventory of cleaning and repair supplies
- Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans, specifications, and technical illustrations.
- Installs new equipment, interprets oral and written instructions, specifications, wiring diagrams, and codes.
- Attends and/or conducts meetings and training sessions.
- Follow oral and written instructions.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work.
- Performs other duties as required by the Supervisor.
- Four years experience as an electrical/mechanical technician.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Some trade school education with an emphasis on electrical and mechanical equipment and metal fabrication
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in the construction, repair, and operation of engines, pumps, and other mechanical equipment related to central utility and/or water/wastewater treatment plant operations and procedures; safe work practices
- Demonstrated ability to use computers and computer software including, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and to enter data into computerized management systems to compose and complete computer reports.

The base salary range for this position is $41,200.00 to $58,850.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
