Job Summary
Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to engine products at the customer’s site.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Tucson, AZ.
Key Responsibilities- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development and certification on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
- Work in both shop and customer field locations as required
- Completes complex internal engine repairs
- Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls
- Ability to troubleshoot with limited or no support from diagnostic tools
- Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
- Mentor junior technicians, including technical support and documentation
- Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
- Experience with chassis work (brakes, suspension, steering, etc.)
- Subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre‑employment drug testing; ongoing random drug and alcohol testing required
- CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- CDL holder must be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- 5‑year motor vehicle report free from major violations
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). years of driving experience
- Knowledge of DOT driving regulations, including hours of service and electronic log booking device use
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit
May require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
ExperienceSignificant field service work experience
Expert level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Customer service experience
Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (preferred)
Compensation and BenefitsBase salary rate commensurate with experience.
