Pay Range (Hiring): $69,908 - $83,886 annually
Full Pay Range: $69,908 - $97,864 annually

- Lead and participate in advanced operations, maintenance, repair, diagnosis, troubleshooting, construction, fabrication, and preventive maintenance of commercial-level HVAC equipment and systems.
- Perform critical repairs to maintain system integrity, ensuring compliance with standards, rules, regulations and permit requirements.
- Serve as system technical expert for maintenance and modification of complex commercial HVAC equipment.
- Interpret and apply required codes or standards using blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and create working sketches, drawings, and resource estimates.
- Recommend equipment, facilities, or process modifications to enhance operability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Coordinate modifications or maintenance with operations staff, facility managers, or end‑users to minimize service disruption.
- Participate in development of RFPs and contracts for equipment, supplies, and services.
- Inspect, service, and maintain common and specialized tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Maintain comprehensive records of work, modifications, and logs.
- Collect samples for analysis or monitoring of system operation.
- Eight years of journey‑level HVAC experience, including two years of lead or supervisory experience (or equivalent through an industry‑recognized apprenticeship).
- Four years with Pima County in an HVAC Specialist or related position, including one year of supervisory experience (if applicable).
- Documented education and experience in “Education” and “Work Experience” application sections.
- Six years of experience in diagnostics of refrigerant systems, HVAC, and service work.
- Six years of experience with chillers, low‑temperature, compressors, industrial, and commercial systems.
- Four years of HVAC supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of Maximo and Workday software.
- EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (copy to be uploaded).
- Current EPA Section 608 Universal Certification, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Valid Arizona driver license (Class D or commercial as required).
- Additional CDL endorsements may be required for certain positions, subject to state and federal standards.
- Lift and carry up to 75 pounds; perform bending, climbing, kneeling, squatting, or stooping.
- Operate vehicles, forklifts, or powered equipment safely.
- Wear required safety clothing and equipment.
- Ascend/descend ladders or stairs to reach platforms.
- Distinguish colors; operate in noisy or potentially hazardous environments.
- Potential for exposure to infectious agents, blood‑borne pathogens, asbestos, or wastewater.
- On‑call hours; work in extremes of heat, humidity, dust, cold, and potentially hazardous chemicals.
- May be required to work in correctional or high‑security facilities.
