Overview

Heavy Equipment and Transport Operator – Tucson Electric Power seeks an experienced operator to manage heavy equipment, load and secure cargo, and transport vehicles up to and including those weighing more than 44,000 lbs/GVR. The role supports a broad range of tasks such as pole hauling, demolition, crane service, and over‑the‑road transport.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain equipment as required.
  • Load and secure loads on all equipment.
  • Operate and drive equipment up to and including vehicles with more than 44,000 lbs/GVR and engines of at least 200 horsepower.
  • Transport hazardous materials, liquids, or dry flammable materials while complying with safety regulations.
  • Perform tasks such as pole hauling and removal, pole‑hole digging, excavation projects, crane service, coal handling, soil cementing, concrete finishing, demolition, and bulldozer/grader service.
  • Adhere to company safety manuals, traffic control guidelines, and environmental procedures.
  • Complete all required training and task sign-offs within 12 months of hire.
  • Assist with additional assignments as directed and maintain overall safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL within 60 days of hire.
  • Must obtain and maintain tanker, HAZMAT, and doubles/triples endorsements within one year of hire.
  • Ability to obtain Crane Institute Certification (CIC);
    Crane certification preferred.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions.
  • Expectations to work overtime as needed.
Compensation & Benefits

Starting rate of pay: $53.17 per hour
