Position: School Safety Technician - Locksmith (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)

Summary

Responsibilities include installing, maintaining and repairing locking devices, security containers and door‑closing hardware; reproducing keys, making badges, and maintaining records; maintaining master key systems; and maintaining and repairing District Electronic Access Control Systems.

Minimum Requirements
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible locksmith experience
  • Two (2) years working independently on master key systems and access/security platforms
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible locksmith experience or Locksmith Certification
  • Verbal & written communication skills in English and ability to read, comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions
Requirements Prior To Start Date
  • FBI fingerprint background check (mandatory)
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization
  • Current Arizona driver’s license with no more than the allowable points as specified by governing policy
  • Bloodborne Pathogen training offered by TUSD Risk Management Department
Preferred Qualifications
  • ASSA High Security System certification
  • Experience in Electronic Access Control Systems installation and repair

School Safety - St. Mary's and Grande area

Classification: AFSCME Blue Collar

FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day

Work Calendar: 12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
