We are seeking a Senior Electronics Test / Integration Field Technician to join our team. In this role you will perform depot level inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in support of the Javelin missile Command Launch Unit (CLU) and training devices (TD).
Javelin is a highly advanced, man‑portable anti‑tank guided munition designed to be carried and launched by a single operator. Developed by the Javelin Joint Venture—a partnership between Raytheon and Lockheed Martin—the system delivers unmatched capability to U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, and international forces worldwide.
Javelin provides a medium‑range, fire‑and‑forget missile solution capable of defeating a wide range of threats, including armored vehicles, bunkers, and fortified positions. Its Command Launch Unit (CLU) doubles as a surveillance sight, enabling operators to detect and engage targets day or night, in all weather conditions.
The system can be deployed from multiple platforms and has demonstrated successful operation from remote launchers mounted on unmanned ground vehicles. Javelin has been combat‑proven in more than 5,000 engagements across Afghanistan and Iraq and is planned to remain in service through at least 2050.
What You Will Do- Perform comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of circuit cards, cable harnesses, electronic assemblies, and electro‑optical systems.
- Analyze equipment failures to identify root causes and recommend effective corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development of new test procedures and test equipment, providing input on design improvements to enhance process efficiency and reduce costs.
- Participate in international travel to the United Kingdom in support of program commitments, including command‑related responsibilities.
- Support Repair and Return (R & R) operations and manage inventory activities.
- Provide guidance and training to customer personnel on operation, maintenance, and inspection procedures and techniques.
- Train customers on the repair and maintenance of the Command Launch Unit (CLU), Battle Skills Trainer (BST), and Javelin Weapons Effect Simulator (JavWES).
- Initial assignment and training will start in Tucson, AZ, followed by relocation to the United Kingdom near the end of 2027.
- This is an unaccompanied, long‑term position in the United Kingdom under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) when deployed at the end of 2027, with potential extensions.
- International travel at a moment’s notice.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all medical requirements for overseas assignments including comprehensive post‑offer medical examination.
Qualifications You Must Have- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
- Certified, or able to become certified, in hand soldering, through‑hole and surface‑mount soldering, as well as cable and harness rework.
- Experience installing, operating, maintaining, and repairing military equipment.
- Proficient with standard electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and digital voltmeters (DVMs).
- Skilled in all aspects of electronics troubleshooting, repair, and testing.
- Experience incorporating hardware and software modifications on tactical, training, and test/support equipment due to engineering changes, design updates, or obsolescence.
- Familiarity with electro‑optical sensor hardware and software, along with commercial and military electronics maintenance practices, including proper hand tool use.
