Pay: $34-38/hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Tucson Electrics is hiring a full-time Lead Electrician to take a key role in field execution for residential and light commercial work throughout Tucson.

We’re looking for an experienced electrician who can work independently, make sound field decisions, communicate professionally with customers and inspectors, and help establish a high standard for safety, quality, workmanship, and professionalism.

This is a hands-on field role with meaningful responsibility and room to grow as Tucson Electrics expands.

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform residential and light commercial electrical work
  • Lead service calls and troubleshooting
  • Complete panel replacements and service upgrades
  • Install EV charging equipment
  • Perform lighting, circuit, and electrical improvement work
  • Coordinate inspections and permit-related field requirements
  • Coordinate field activities with other trades
  • Read plans, one-lines, electrical diagrams, and equipment documentation
  • Communicate professionally with customers
  • Document completed work with photos and job notes
  • Help train and guide future apprentices or electricians
  • Help establish field procedures and workmanship standards

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of electrical field experience preferred
  • Strong residential service and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience with panel replacements and service upgrades
  • Light commercial experience
  • Experience pulling permits and coordinating inspections
  • Working knowledge of the NEC and local code requirements
  • Ability to read plans, one-lines, electrical diagrams, and equipment documentation
  • Understanding of electrical engineering concepts relevant to load calculations, system design, and equipment selection
  • Basic experience with electrical controls and automation systems
  • Experience leading apprentices or small crews
  • Basic estimating ability, including identifying scope, labor, materials, and field changes for small projects and service work
  • Arizona journeyman certification or equivalent credentials, if applicable
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 training/certification
  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
  • Professional communication with customers, inspectors, suppliers, other trades, and team members
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check, as permitted by applicable law
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the trade
  • Basic hands-on skills in adjacent trades and general construction tasks
  • Ability and willingness to help train future apprentices or less-experienced electricians

Schedule

Monday-Friday, typically 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, with occasional schedule adjustments based on project needs.

Overtime: Occasional overtime may be available or required depending on project and customer needs.
