* Position Summary:

*
* This position is responsible for the preventative maintenance and general upkeep on all of the company's HVAC equipment.

*
* Duties and Responsibilities:

*
* · Change HVAC filters and maintaining coil cleanliness

· Ability to use hand and power tools to build and repair

· Work on ladders, scaffolds, platforms.

· Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision.

· Perform general cleaning of shop area.

· Guest interaction - respond in a courteous professional manner to guest questions, and complaints or requests.

· Be meticulous and highly detailed oriented.

· Maintain tools, work spaces and equipment.

· Must be able to read, understand, and use MSDS sheets.

· Follow hazardous material/disposal procedures

· Perform proper lifting techniques.

· Wear back support and other safety equipment.

· Complete checklists, work requests and other department forms.

· Respond to work requests in a timely manner

· To assist and perform any other duties management may request.

* Qualifications:

* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

· An HVAC Apprentice must possess good knowledge of the use of mechanical fasteners such as clamps, screws and bolts, as well as chemical joining and sealing using glue, putty, paints and preservatives.

· Basic math is used while performing HVAC repairs and maintenance such as figuring out the amount and type of filters needed to perform preventative maintenance.

· Good common sense must be used when dealing with the everyday problems around the resort.

* Education and Experience:

* ** High school graduate or equivalent. experience relating to general maintenance in a hotel/resort environment is helpful*
* ** Physical Demands:*
* ** The Physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.*

* ** Able to manually lift 50 lb. objects intermittently. Heavier objects will be handled using other methods. Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, climbing ladders, climbing, walking, repetitive motions, listening ability, visual acuity and good speaking skills.*

* Working Conditions:

* ** Be able to work on their feet in both a well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor setting with adequate ventilation and outdoors exposed to changing weather conditions (for instance, rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.). Noise, smoke, fumes and heat may be present. Understands and uses all safety equipment and PPE as required.*
