** The Pima County Justice Services Department has multiple openings for our Justice Navigator position which provides referral and support services to individuals released from law enforcement or jail custody. Responsibilities involve individual engagement and referrals to community-based services (i.e., housing, mental and substance treatment, and other supportive services). Additionally, this position provides encouragement and support to individuals following best practices.

* Essential Functions:

** As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Work assignments may vary depending on the department’s need and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.
* Engages with individuals exiting police or jail custody, and refers to treatment, housing, and other community resources;
* Develops partnerships with other agencies, collaboratives, associations and community organizations;
* Provides encouragement, support and resources to individuals with justice system involvement utilizing best-practices and evidence-based programming;
* Maintains accurate and reliable data for program evaluation.

* Minimum Qualifications:

*
* ** Associates degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, criminal justice, or a field closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment
**** OR:
**** Three years of experience directly related to the nature of the criminal justice system, mental health system or public housing.****(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

Preferred Qualifications ******:** (Be specific in describing your experience in your application. Ensure the descriptions provided illustrate your competencies, specifically addressing the required and preferred qualifications.):*
* * Lived experience with the criminal justice system and a demonstrated commitment to supporting others in reentry and justice system navigation.
* Current Peer Support Certification.
* Experience building trust and rapport with clients, providing encouragement, support, and resources to individuals with justice system involvement, utilizing best practices and evidence-based programming.
* Experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders, including service providers, reentry services, law enforcement, courts, correctional staff, and community-based organizations.
